The Word in Seaview Gardens is that dancehall recording artistes Blakkman and Dexta Daps are in a feud.

Both are residents in the community and have been heavily involved in events hosted there.

According to Blakkman, there is no existing feud between him and his neighbour.

"Never has been, never will be; ah people ah try do that," Blakkman said. "Mi ah hear it all about. it loud inna di community, but it all stem from arguments that start between people that par with him and some persons that par with me."

He says that their names were called in the mix-up and it resulted in rumours being spread.

The two deejays have worked together on the tracks Miss You So Much (2015) and Superhero (2017) but have yet to collaborate since then.

"Mi nuh have nut'n a gwaan but music, it kinda set a way, but it soon fix. Bigger artiste from the community hear bout it and a try kill that vibes, because we only need peace, love and music," he said. "It is normal for people to force contention when everyone wants a spot to par around an entertainer, but all I can do is limit who I keep around me."

The deejay says he is focused on preparations for the launch of Real Detonator, the first EP to be released since the overseas-based label Island Jams Records took control of his management and bookings.

It is one of the moments that he has been waiting for in his career. he said, "The name was thought of years ago, as ' detonator' has been my nickname since 2001."

The 10-track album features Nine Night and Healing, which most of his fans are familiar with. There is also a single featuring Esco. The launch will double as Blakkman's birthday celebration.

He said that there is much talent in Seaview Gardens, and that his main aim is to help change the negative views into something positive, "by letting the youth focus on whatever talent them have and get a chance to go out there and do them thing, rather than sit down and stir up problem".
