Gunmen order drink then kill patron in St Andrew bar
A late-night lime at a Cassava Piece bar turned deadly after masked gunmen stormed the establishment and opened fire, killing a patron.
Dead is 30-year-old Jerome Ellis, otherwise called “Keno”, unemployed of Cassava Piece, St Andrew.
Reports are that about 11 p.m. Saturday, Ellis was inside the Dollar Sign Bar along Cassava Piece Road when two masked men entered the establishment.
Police say one of the men ordered a drink while the other approached Ellis and engaged him in a brief conversation.
Moments later, loud explosions rang out and the gunmen fled the bar.
Ellis was found suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper body.
The police were summoned and he was rushed to the Kingston Public Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The Constant Spring police are investigating the killing.
