Woman found hanging from tree near Clarendon cemetery
A quiet Monday morning ended in tragedy after a 42-year-old woman was found hanging from a tree in a bushy area near a cemetery in Suttons, Chapelton, Clarendon.
The deceased has been identified as Lucian Morgan, a domestic helper of Suttons.
Police said Morgan was last seen alive by her 82-year-old mother at about 7 a.m. Monday.
Hours later, about 11:30 a.m., residents who were tending to their animals in a vegetated area near the cemetery made the grim discovery and alerted the police.
Morgan was reportedly found hanging from a tree with a red rope around her neck. She was reportedly dressed in a yellow blouse, burgundy tights and black Air Force shoes.
Police said there were no visible signs of violence on the body.
Morgan was taken to hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The circumstances surrounding her death are being investigated as a suspected suicide, and a post-mortem examination is pending.
Investigations are continuing.
