Angry residents block road over lack of water in Rose Heights
Angry residents of 41 Boulevard in Rose Heights blocked the main road leading into their community this morning in protest over the lack of water in the area.
Residents used trash, tree branches, garbage and other debris to block the roadway, forcing motorists to turn back. Some of the blockages were also set ablaze.
The residents said the absence of water has been a long standing problem, despite repeated promises that the issue would be fixed. According to them, those promises have not been fulfilled.
They also complained that they continue to pay their water bills despite not receiving the service.
Residents are now calling on the relevant authorities to address the problem once and for all.
